How do I find a percentage of a number?
Multiply the number by the percentage and divide by 100. For 15% of 200: 200 × 15 ÷ 100 = 30.
How is percentage change calculated?
(new − old) ÷ |old| × 100. A move from 80 to 100 is +25%. If the old value is 0 the change is undefined.
Can I use it for discounts?
Yes. Use 'Decrease by' with the discount percentage to get the price after discount.
Why is going up 50% and down 50% not back to the start?
The second percentage applies to a different base. 100 up 50% is 150, and 150 down 50% is 75.
