Is my image uploaded to a server?
No. The image is decoded, edited and saved inside your browser tab. Nothing is sent anywhere, so it also works for ID photos and documents.
Which format should I pick?
JPG for photos, PNG for graphics, screenshots and anything that needs a transparent background, WebP when you want the smallest file and the destination accepts it.
Can it open HEIC photos from an iPhone?
Only if your browser can decode HEIC. Safari can. If yours cannot, share the photo as JPG from your phone first.
