Is my image uploaded to a server?

No. The image is decoded, edited and saved inside your browser tab. Nothing is sent anywhere, so it also works for ID photos and documents.

How do I resize without distortion?

Leave "Keep aspect ratio" ticked and fill in just one side, or both to fit inside that box. The other side follows automatically.

Can I make an image bigger?

Yes, but the result will look soft. Enlarging cannot add real detail, and the file gets bigger.
